The Kaumātua Service is free and available to whānau Māori aged 55 and above. We operate Tuesday and Thursday weekly from 10am to 2pm and we have a shared lunch each session.
Te Kaitaka Tūpuna o Rehua is our marae-based health and wellbeing program for kaumātua and pakeke. The program aims to connect and engage kaumātua with our community, and keep them physically active through a range of cultural activities, events and outings.
Based on the marae the program aims to eliminate social isolation and connect our kaumātua to their culture in a safe and friendly environment where they are able to learn waiata, Te Reo Māori, tikanga and kawa. The program also provides opportunities to contribute to marae events and be involved in community events. Kaumātua are also able to access our on-site rongoa Māori and clinical nursing services.
